Our Story

I'm Liam, the Owner/Director of Kettleridge Homes.

I grew up in rural Waikato and Hamilton enjoying the outdoors, sports and building tree huts in the backyard with anything I could find.

It was when I was nearing the end of my time at school and deciding what I would like to do for a career that I began my journey towards building and renovating homes, which I’ve been doing now for nearly 15 years.

I began with an apprenticeship with a reputable local builder who built and renovated family homes. From there, I moved through a few different companies to learn as much as I could from different builders and different styles, rising through the ranks of Labourer, Apprentice, Foreman and Project Manager.

In 2014 I started with Quintin Erueti and Zion Builders, who promoted me to Foreman and Leading Hand. With the new responsibility, I had a license to take the bull by the horns and focus on the most exciting stuff in the building game. I learnt how to manage jobs, keep to timelines and finish work to a high standard.

It was during this time that I was able to observe what worked well between these various building businesses and bring the best parts together to form my own team.

This lead me to establish Kettleridge Homes in 2017, to provide clients with a more personalised experience than larger companies. I believe people want to do business with people, not businesses. They want to know, like and trust the face behind the brand or logo.

My journey to becoming a builder has been filled with challenges and triumphs but my passion for this career stems from enjoying working outside with tools and seeing the end result. I love to put my tool belt on as much as possible because of my love of building and creating something special with my own hands.

I’m proud that what sets Kettleridge Homes apart is our commitment to our core values and our well-established systems, such as our 24-hour return communication, teamwork, quality, and respect. We have a 500-point checklist, sub-trade checklist, toolbox meetings, and present quotes in person to ensure a seamless building process and complete understanding for our clients. Our process involves initial contact, onsite meetings, concept drawings, cost estimates, full drawings, fixed price quotations, contract signing, construction, and final handover. We keep clients informed every step of the way, ensuring their dream home becomes a reality.

We also work closely with preferred partners like ITM, Optiplumb, Leading Edge Electrical, and Certified Builders to deliver exceptional results.

Outside of Kettleridge Homes, I love to follow my favourite sports teams, especially Rugby, training at the gym and spending quality time with family, friends and my dog Dexter.
